Industry Integration is the unique aspect of these programmes which not only differentiates our programmes from all others but is also beneficial for students as well as the Industry. This concept is different from traditional management education. To understand Industry Integration let us understand the TRADITIONAL Management qualification. In traditional management qualification at under graduate or post graduate level the typical set up would consist of a regular college having infrastructure & facilities. There will be class room teaching as per the curriculum, regular test, personality development. What is lacking in a traditional setup is Industry Interface of only two months in the form of training in an Industry and hence once the students passes out from the college and joins an Industry, he/she has almost nil or limited Industry experience, he learns on the job. While learning on the job he struggles to understand organization, procedures and application of known management concepts & only then can look forward to growth after 2 to 3 years.
On the other hand Industry has to deal with a fresh recruit who has no knowledge about the Industry apart from what he has learnt in text books. In the absence of structured induction and training department where everyone is busy with their job it takes a much longer time to train a person, make him/her comfortable and start getting output from him /her.
On the contrary in industry intregation education system a student after learning basic management concepts takes up training in an Industry of desired specialization for 3-4 days in a week as a regular employee under the guidance of an internal guide from the Institute and an External guide from the Industry. In this system he is able to apply class-room knowledge at his work place & can discuss work place situation with other students & can also seek solution of the same from his / her faculty.
The net result is a perfect integration of class room learning with the work place performance leading to a roughly 2-1/2 years experience in case of Under Graduate Programmes & 1-1/2 years of experience in case of Post Graduate Programmes.
It is a win-win situation where a graduate or post graduate does not approach Industry only with the degree or diploma but with relevant Industry experience by peeling off the fresher’s tag. They are also in a position to demand higher salaries than their traditional Management qualified colleagues that leads to faster growth and achievements of personal & organization objectives.
It is a win-win situation for both as organization receives a management qualified, trained and experienced candidate who requires less or almost no time to settle in the job who would start giving output or contribution much faster or almost instantaneously while achieving department & organization objectives.
For this program it is recommended that the program should be modular in nature so that student can focus on the targeted learning so that separate certificate can be given for each 6 month module. Student will be entering into A choice based credit system, which will be of 6 month (one certificate). In this the theory classes will be held for only 10 to 12 days (number of hours per day to be decided by concerned HOD) in 6 months and for the rest of the time in that particular semester the students will be attending their practical at practical training partner (Industry) doing with assignments & project works. In this program, students have a choice to enter either in January to June or July to December. The students have to follow the instruction regarding Academic calendar, classes schedule strictly. The attendance is mandatory, in case of shortage of attendance student would not be allowed to sit in examination. If any students is unable to maintain the attendance then he or she will have attend extra classes in that particular certificate ,for which extra fees will also be charged to make up for the lost lectures. And only after the total attendance of 75% is achieved, the student would be allowed to appear in exams. For every 6 months, a certificate may be issued to the student and after clearing all certificate programs in a year the student will be issued a DMC for 1 year based on the credits scored in certificates and similarly the degree will be issued after the successful completion of the prescribed number of years required as per program.
